How To Download Torrents!

September 29, 2012 by Abhay

Sharing and downloading movies, music, applications and other data from the internet has become very popular these days. This process has been simplified and made faster with the help of torrents. In this post, you will learn how to download torrents in a few easy steps.

What is a torrent?

Basically, a torrent is a very small file which contains no information about the content of the file, but mainly consists of the information about the location of different pieces of the file.

When we download torrents, all the different pieces are downloaded from different hosts(which are online at that time), and automatically get combined side-by-side. This results in faster downloads of large files. It also allows us to pause the downloading when required.

Seeders/seeds are the people who have already downloaded the file and are now uploading the file pieces for you. On the other hand, peers are the users who are downloading the file along with you. They may also be uploading some pieces of the file simultaneously.

To download a file using torrents, follow these few easy steps:

1. First of all you will require a BitTorrent client to download torrents files. It may be downloaded from here : uTorrent Download

2.Search for your required file, which may be a song, movie, application or anything.

You may also use websites which allow you to download torrents for free like thepiratebay, torrentz, mininova, isohunt etc.

3. After finding the required torrent file, download it to your PC to a known location.

It will look like this (.torrent) :

4. Now, double-clicking your torrent file will ask you to save your file to a suitable location. Select the location and the download will start automatically.
