How To Lock Your Photos, Messages and Other Applications! [Set Individual Application Passwords]

March 17, 2013 by Abhay

Now you can set a different password for your applications (messages, WhatsApp, mails, photos etc.) along with the conventional passcode lock on your jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod. So if your friend asks for your iOS device to play games, he won’t be able to sneak into your personal stuff.

This amazing feature can be added to your iPhone with the help of iProtect, which is a free tweak on the Cydia store. iProtect allows you to lock individual applications, lock your sim, disable icon movement and disable app deletion by setting up a password. You can lock your private apps individually, so that you don’t have to enter a password every time your use your device for calling or other general stuff.

To download iProtect on your jailbroken Apple device, follow these easy steps :

1. Open Cydia and search for ‘iProtect‘. It is available on the BigBoss and Insanelyi repo for free!

2. After downloading run the application to enable it. Enter a password (and a safety word) which will be common for all the applications you lock. This can be changed later under the Password Management option.

3. Go to Locking Applications and select the applications which you wish to lock.

Simply close iProtect and you are done!

I hope this post helped you out, keep following for more!
